On my last full day in Tokyo we decided to splurge out on some tempura. At the recommendation of one of my friends, we decided to try Mikawa Zezankyo which according to some people is supposed to be one of the best tempura restaurants in

So after our jaunt in Kyoto, we went off to Koyasan to see a different side of Japan. It was still very ancient. And still very touristy. And the food was still very good. But this difference was that this was a place of meditation.

Continuing on from lunch (see previous post) we went off hiking another mountain. That is, until we had a little accident. Look closely at the below picture.     Here is a close up if you are having trouble seeing it. This is my friend, B.

So with winter ending soon and spring coming (Sakura!) my friends and I thought we better enjoy the last of the snow. And visit Takamine.  A couple hours out of Tokyo, this place is famous for its outdoor onsens.  More on this in the next
