I get suspicious when particularly affordable places dress themselves up.  Maybe it just a reaction to the rather showy politics of our day but I can’t help but be wary. With a dining room like this, thoughts of opulence and showmanship easily spring to mind.

I know about Monocle as a fashionable magazine from my time in Japan.  I didn’t know that they had made the jump to serving beverages too.  Maybe this is an idea for me although my current career and drink don’t really mix, except to dull
