Tonkatsu

One of my favourite foods. Tonkatsu Tonkatsu is fried pork cutlets in a light panko batter eaten with shredded cabbage and rice.  I can hear people thinking “it’s just like fish and chips” but it’s so much more!  It has become something of an obsession

So a couple of weeks ago I went hiking in Okutama.  About 90 minutes of out Tokyo. I brought along a Japanese guide to read the signs and ensure that I would be fed. This is the feeding before the hike starts.  Now green root.

So on our second day in Hokdate it was time to do some cultural activities like any good tourist. Breakfast was at the nearby fish market. These are not fake.  That is a real crab leg.   Nom nom. And they just get bigger and

Friends in town again, so more sightseeing! While walking to Ginza, stumbled across a fire extinguisher shop! Design! Ecology!  And yes of course quality.  Although if I am on fire, I don’t think I would care what colour the fire-extinguisher was… Off to the imperial
