Paris May 2016
On the metro station waiting to
Arrive at Versailles
To enjoy the splendor of the paintings
On the ceiling too
Grand majestic corridors
And gardens
A savory creme brulee
Tartine sausage, potato and cheesecake
Pear cake
Back to the gardens of the palace
To smell the roses
With duck confit to refuel
And a creme brulee to finish
The next day discovering the delights of Paris, such as a macaroon tower
Quaint streets
Tempting food shops
Which only becomes better when you step inside
With drooling onlookers
Yet to off set the richness, a plain baguette
And a cup of chocolate
While stopping to listen to the street music
A piano on the side walk
The intimidating spires of Notre Dame
The lofty interior
Broken by fanciful stained glass windows
With a cold cut lunch appetiser to slake our hunger
Steak
Shrimp on tomatoes
With potatoes
With a break to enjoy the garden of Luxembourg
With a view of a lonely sky scraper
Sacré-Cœur, Paris a marvelous church only a short walk away from Moulin Rouge
With a place for contemplation
Later to be followed by baked foie gras
Scallops
Tartiflette
Goat’s cream
Creme brulee
And the best crumble I’ve ever had
On our last day we stopped by many places to eat
Yet we had to leave Paris with a pleasant after taste. A shot that only sells eclairs
Sweet dreams
