So continuing on… Next stop was the Hagia Sophia! Originally built as a Christian church, it was the biggest one around for a 1000 years (until St. Peter’s came along) And suitably grand inside But if you look closely, you can see Arabic script everywhere.

After eating our fill, we went to go look for an interesting building. Like a mosque.  They didn’t let us into the Blue Mosque as they thought that the blind girl was underage… Actually it was just prayer time.  anyway… See the inside! And the

So after a hearty breakfast, it was off to the Topkapi palace.  Home of the sultans. First we went to the Harem One of the courtyards.  This is where the favoured wives live.  As well as the 100 other girls. And they are guarded by

So off we went on a new adventure.  To Istanbul. Arriving at 4:30am in Istanbul we took the bus to the hotel where a very sleepy porter took our bags.  Then off to see the city. This is at the hippodrome before the blue mosque.
