On a rainy rainy Tokyo day we went off to try some ramen. Not just any Ramen, but TOKYO RAMEN SHOW ramen. Time to start the eating.. err testing… The ramen are showcased from all over Japan.  Twenty shops tonight. Big photos and shiny lights

So happened upon two matsuri’s when I was out and about in Tokyo.  Both were quite similar, one in Asakusa and another in Koenji so I’ve decided to group them together here. This is part of the Awa Odori to welcome spirits back at the

So we wanted to see the seaaaaa This is Ito.  Where we stopped for some munchies on the way.  It is also known as an onsen (hot spring) town.  Kind of like going to Brighton if you live in London, but about 10 x better

Third stop – Himeji Castle The largest remaining castle in Japan.  Also was not destroyed during the war so is substantially in the same shape it was several hundred years ago. Picture of the castle in the distance while in the inner walls. One wing
