Galao
With opportunities to go out and savour food outside sadly curtailed by current circumstance, I have been snatching more than usual coffees. These are things that can be enjoyed in rather compressed time frames.
On the other hand, recent events have also driven me to other actions. Here I am talking about my recent acquisition of an expresso machine, so I can have cup of Joe without having to open my front door. As an additional plus, it helps me to speak from a higher horse about coffee as I can now prance about and pretend I know more than the average Joe on the street. Not that lacking the ability to do things myself ever stopped me from critiquing things. As hypocritical unsolicited criticism is the best sort as most highly “sought” after.
Latte. Fairly decent in a laid back cafe with pleasant outdoor seating just outside. It had a nice latte pattern, something that was fairly pretty. That is compared to my attempts at latte art which could be at most charitably described as looking as a poo.
As for the taste of this, I say decent as it was not outstanding but alright. Coffee taste a bit muted but not burnt, milk well frothed. Just that it seemed to be missing ompf. Just not worth leaving home for, at least not for me.
A quiet eating 7/10.
A coffee was around GBP4 excluding service.
