As my last trip outside of Tokyo, a couple friends and I decided to visit Ishigaki.  One of the most southern parts of Japan.  Its about an hour south of the main island of Okinawa. It was meant to be a really chill trip! The

So after our jaunt in Kyoto, we went off to Koyasan to see a different side of Japan. It was still very ancient. And still very touristy. And the food was still very good. But this difference was that this was a place of meditation.

We also went to visit Ginkakuji, the silver temple. As you can see from the photos, it isn’t really silver. I was looking high and low for it too. Apparently, the name the silver temple comes about when the moon shines on the water and
